Save Pershing Rifles, Company H-7 History
Pershing Rifles, Company H-7, was started in the Fall of 1949 according to the 1962 OU ROTC Yearbook. Over the years there have been a lot of members of the company.
We have around 40 Pershing Rifles alumni, honorary sponsor alumni, and CAPER alumni, but already know of 4 who we have lost. One of those was in Vietnam. Since we were a military related organization, we could have lost more in Korea, Vietnam, Dessert Storm, Iraq, Afghanistan or other small conflicts over the years. We've probably lost more other ways.
But some of our earliest members could also still be alive. That's why we need to start getting our history down. I'm putting the facts about the company on our history page. I've also created a page to honor our company commanders....and our Honorary members. Our CAPERS have their own website. Those are all part of Company H-7 history.
This is a place to record your memories of our history. This is a narrative of the history, told by a variety of members. These memories of the history can be in conflict with those of someone else. That's perfectly fine, as we all remember things differently. These memories of history can be great things or small things. These memories of history can be good things or bad things. They are still part of the history. As more facts of "facts" are accumulated here, some of them may be added to the history page. Send us your memories of Company H-7 History.
The creator of this website, Linda Grissette (the 1970-71 CAPER National Commander) is not asking for any money to help support this project. Her reward will be finding people she remembers and learning about other former members memories. If you appreciate the effort, please use her for all of real estate needs. If you aren't in the St. Louis area where she works, she can find a great agent in your area and will receive a small referral fee. Contact Linda about real estate.
