The University of Oklahoma Pershing Rifles Alumni Club is for anyone who was:

If one of these describes you, then you are eligible for membership and we are looking for you.  Please let us know that you have found our website by submitting our information form.

Our Second Annual Reunion will be Friday, October 21, 2011.  Click here for more information.

We are also planning on having some kind of get together at the 2013 National Alumni Reunion being held in conjunction with NATCON (the Active's National Convention) March 15-17, 2011 in Baltimore.  It will most likely be at lunch time during the drill meet on Saturday, March 17 and be very informal.  That will allow those in the area to attend even if they can't get off work.  Those who attend the whole event will have more opportunities to get together, of course.  More information will be posted soon.

The first OU Pershing Rifles Reunion was in September 2010.  We had 36 alumni in attendance.  Check out the pictures of the 2010 Reunion.  Check out the pictures and the Armory Tour.

Our Constitution and By-Laws have been signed and given to the University of Oklahoma Alumni Association, so we are official!  We have officers and committees are being formed.

Check out our rosters to see if you and your friends are on them.  If not, please let us know.

Pershing Rifles Company H-7 started October 20, 1948.  We've found a yearbook picture of the first members of the company and have found 3 of those former young men who decided to join the National Society of Pershing Rifles.  That was the start of something very special.  Every alumni of the company that we have found states how special the company was.  During the late 1990's the company designation changed (based on the Pershing Rifles National Website at the time) when the regiment changed, but later it went back to H-7.  In 2010, we were told that the company had not been gone too many years.  But for nearly 60 years the company produced some outstanding adults.  At the 2010 reunion the was some interest among the cadets we met in getting the company re-started.  We'll post updates as things happen.

In the fall of 1963, Company H-7 started a coed auxiliary group, Kaydettes.  In November 1966, the Kaydettes from the University of Oklahoma were named the National Headquarters for the new Coed Affiliates Pershing Rifles, commonly called CAPERS.  In 1972 the CAPER National Headquarters moved.  In 1980, Pershing Rifles took most of the CAPER Companies into Pershing Rifles membership.  All CAPER alumni are now considered alumni of Pershing Rifles.  A few of the CAPER Companies started a new national organization, Pershing Angels who proudly remember how the Kaydettes at the University of Oklahoma were the first CAPER National Headquarters.

Other achievements of Company H-7 that we know of include:

(Note: We are still looking for more accomplishments of H-7, as we know there are many more)

Read the story of an old soldier.  When Linda heard this from one of her real estate agents in 1999, she was totally amazed!

The creator of this website, Linda Grissette (the 1970-71 CAPER National Commander) is not asking for any money to help support this project.  Her reward will be finding people she remembers and learning about other former members memories.  If you appreciate the effort, please use her for all of real estate needs.  If you aren't in the St. Louis area where she works, she can find a great agent in your area and will receive a small referral fee.  Contact Linda about real estateSee Linda's main real estate website.
