This is a surprise picture!  Recognize anyone? 

My cousin, Mary Lou Morrison, found it and e-mailed it to Dad a few years ago.  

We think it was at a Bible Study group in the 70's that decided to have a square dance.
That's Mary Lou in the center with the braids.  Mom and Dad thought she sent it because the guy in the beard was Mary Lou's future husband (It may have been him, because he went to the Bible Study, as he was still in high school at the time).  

They totally missed the guy on the right!  I couldn't believe they didn't notice him!  

Yes, it's the only picture we have of Jim Thaggard square dancing!

Nancy Joy, Linda Grissette and Betty Joy in November 1965...right after we were all 3 baptized at First Presbyterian Church.  

Now you can see where the Junior Swingers friendships and connections started!  Even though I had slightly known Marianne for years, I was friends first with Betty from church...and she had been friends with Marianne for years.  So we became a "best friends" group of 3 in the 1966-67 school year!  

Nancy was only 2 years younger and played in the orchestra.  I can recently remembered a joint Col-Hi, Central and Madison orchestra and choir concert at the Civic Center where 2 professional singers came to sing with us.  After the practice, I can remember Nancy and a group of the Central Orchestra "kids" came over to talk with Betty and I (and maybe Marianne) after the practice.  I realized that was probably the first time I met Jim Thaggard, because some how I knew him when he got to Col-Hi and I invited him to Junior Swingers...and he actually came, unlike many of the people I invited!!!
