CAPER Company Q-17

CAPER Company Q-17 was located at Prairie View A & M College (now University)  in Prairie View, Texas.  

According to the 1969 Pershing Rifleman article by Pershing Rifles Company Q-17, they started their coed group during the 1968-69 school year.

The company was chartered after the December, 1969 Pershing Rifles 17th Regimental Drill Meet in Wichita Falls, Texas.  The staff of Pershing Rifles 17th Regiment was thrilled that they had a chartered CAPER Company (L-17) and at the National Convention asked some of the National Staff to come to the Regimental Drill Meet to talk with two other groups that were considering joining CAPERS (Q-17 and R-17).  The staff was thrilled to have a chance to talk with groups directly rather than depend on others.  Here is a picture of us with girls from all 3 units, as well as a couple of P/Rs!

The members of then future Company Q-17 have on while shirts.  If anyone knows their names, please let us know. National Staff is in the burgundy uniforms.
