CAPER Company G-7 was located at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. The unit was probably chartered after May 1971, but before the National Headquarters was moved there on February 5, 1972 (according to the history from Pershing Angels). The headquarters was there until at least 1975. We hope that the alumni from Kansas State University can help us learn more. We have the name of 3 National Commanders at Kansas State, as well as the names of members from the 1974 and 1975 yearbooks found on e-Yearbooks. When I saw the pictures below on their Pershing Rifles Alumni Website, I sent an e-mail with the link to this site in hopes that they would pass it on to any CAPER Alumni. We hope they find this and update this page....and the CAPER history.
I knew that the headquarters had been moved to Kansas State University, and in the late 1970's my now ex-husband was stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas and I took some graduate level classes at Kansas State. I remember walking by the Armory every day I was on campus and thinking I should stop in, but never did, thinking that they wouldn't know who I was...and I had to pick up the kids at the babysitter! When I received the history, I found that the headquarters had been moved the year before I moved to Manhattan!

Here are 2 pictures of CAPER Company G-7 in a Drill Meet or Exhibition Drill (taken from the Pershing Rifles Company G-7 Alumni Website). There is no date on the picture, but the size almost equals the size of the original National Staff there. The funny thing is that their uniforms look just like the ones we got in 1969 the University of Oklahoma. I wonder what color theirs where?
