CAPER Awards
Although this list is short, we now have enough CAPER Award Recipients to put them on this page. In 1970, the National Commander, Iris Rodriguez, asked me to be in charge of getting our companies to submit names for awards and they were awarded for the first time that year. I had wondered before on this page if we had given any out before that, but I have seen the letter the Iris sent to all the companies recommending me for National Commander. In the letter she said that I was the first person to get any of my 3 awards. I'm assuming that she would consider the award she gave Paulette at the same time to be the first of that award, too. So both of us are listed first. I hope to eventually have the rest of the 1970 awards. But I'm thrilled that we have the 1971 awards listed.

Here is another memory blast for any of you who received awards. Here is the award citation from when Iris gave me the Yellow Rose Award and Distinguished Service Award in 1970. She completely retyped the form since the standard form had a line for the company commander's recommendation and only the National Commander was signing it.
