I'd like to welcome you to our website, which is full of information about CAPERS. I'm continually learning more myself and added the information that I find. The information is great, but one of the main reasons that this website exists is to find CAPER Alumni. If you are an alumni, please send me your contact information I'll be thrilled to hear from you. CAPERS are now considered Pershing Rifles Alumni and the CAPER National Alumni Association is part of The Pershing Rifles Group, a not for profit corporation. The National Society of Pershing Rifles is also part of the corporation . The two major goals of the CAPER National Alumni Association is to support both Pershing Rifles and Pershing Angels. Pershing Angels was started by the CAPER companies that didn't merge into their Pershing Rifles units in the early 80's. Starting the organization is a dream that stayed in my mind for many years without my even realizing it. In April 2011, I received a binder of CAPER letters and documents that was found in the Pershing Rifles archives. Included was the April/May 1971 issue of out newsletter, CAPER Capers. In my farewell column, I wrote that I hoped we would stay in touch and some day start a CAPER Alumni Association. Linda Grissette, CAPER National Commander, 1970-71. |

"The sisterhood
of CAPERS is so great that they have been called a military sorority.
Have you every - you know - belonged? I haven't - until now. No one ever bothered to see ME for myself alone. Me, not my past, not my future. We are a group - all 20 individuals." |

This picture was in the center section of the 1971 Pershing Rifleman yearbook and then later in the 70's in a P/R recruiting brochure. I have no idea what company it is.....but I should. In the binder of CAPER documents and letters I found a letter to P/R National submitting our article and one article from one of the CAPER companies. But, after all, I didn't even remember that there was going to be a 1971 Pershing Rifleman published. But now I have a copy of it. If anyone recognizes these CAPERS, please let me know so I can put the picture on the page where it belongs. |
This website has many more pages and if you are encouraged to go to the sitemap to find out more of what is on this site. We hope you'll be thrilled to find out all the alumnae names, pictures and historical information we've been able to find since this started in November 2009. We hope that you will contribute more to the site.
